Well I've finished up my training, and I got a few pictures taken with the presenter Mr. Duffy (from SAP Aust.). I must say, it was an amazing 4 days (partly due to the fact I didnt have to go into work)

Now before someone accuses me of being an advert whore, I'd just like to say, the following blog was NOT paid for by Gillette.

Yes, I finnaly upgraded my older razor to a Gillette Mach3. Now I've seen the ads, I've heard of the 'amazing 3 blades that allow you to have a smoother and closer shave' but I just didnt need all the hype and the price for the Mach 3 was a pretty penny anyway.

But I got one last night because I plan to keep my older razor (a Gillette Mach 2 Sensor Excel - dont ask me where they get these names from) in my traveling kit as so I'll never be without a shaver.

Well I'm happy with the shaver, its pertty amazing, almost 0 nicks with a brand new blade. The only gripe I have with it is that the blades are now positioned diffrently, and are flat out instead of the standard shaver/razor blade. Its going to take some getting used to, and making precise cuts might be difficult.

Now most of you (the ones that know me) would know that I could not draw even if my life depended on it. Really. I cant. Not at all.

Anyway, as I was browsing the web a few months ago, I came across an amazing blog/webpage that had really cool, weird, intresting images. I put it in my fav list and went about my stuff. I'd check his blog on and off, and maybe drop a comment on an image that I really like, but thats about it. Oddly, the artist has always emailed me back saying thank you for the comment, and is uber polite (yeah thats always cool).

Today, I popped in his site and saw this amazing image of a marble statue (I think) and I just had to comment, and on top of that, I inquired on how he did his work (ie: what he used to get these amazing images out on the net) Below is his reply:

In general terms,
Most of the images were created using Adobe Photoshop, Maya 5.0. Bryce 5, and Painter 8 in one form or another. Essentially they are digital photo collages using mostly photos and textures that I record myself. These images have multiple layers of photos and textures, sometimes quite a number. An online Art and Poetry journal recently ran a feature on my work, if you are interested there is more about the way I work.

Well I've finished Half Life 2 and Republic Commando. Currently, I'm not playing anything seriously, I still have Brothers in Arms, Anarchy Online as well as America's Army though.

I might be looking at getting some Star Wars games later this week, maybe even Farcry, I'm not sure yet.

On the other hand, I really am looking forward to getting those short animated Clone War's videos, as soon as I can find a store that stocks them. I've only PEEKED at them, and they seem to be really cool (and along the same lines as Republic Commando)

Well I finished Half Life 2 (HL2). Its the second game I'm finishing on my new gaming PC, (House of the Dead 3 doesnt count!), aside from Star Wars: Republic Commando (SW:RC). Now SW:RC was just ok, I found the controls a little too twitchy and the mouse aiming tended to be a little off, more so when you're in a firefight. I'm not too sure why, it could just be that I have the mouse sensetivity a little too high for SW:RC.

Oddly enough, I feel HL2 out did HL in every way. I'm not just commenting on the graphics (see below for a few random screenshots, sorry I just found the F5 key late in the game). The design of the game, the puzzles (this time around, there was not ONE level where I felt like I had to cheat to finish a level/kill an end level boss)

That I think is the best feature of the game. Well its late, more later!

The source of all evil (at least in MY life at the moment) is actually my gaming PC and broadband Internet. For now at least, the modem doesnt work at all via the Dlink router I have, so its just my computer thats hooked up to the net (and not, say, brother's). Its kept me up.

There was a slight quake over here around 2.23pm. I actually felt the office building shift a little. We're on a 4 story building, and when we looked down, there were a couple of people already running away. It was a pretty short episode, like less then 10 seconds.

I think I've jump-started the Economy over here. I just spent RM2000 on a PC (USD$1=RM3.80). I don't want to think about it, because it feels like a LOT of money.

Even after I got a BASIC video card, it was still pretty expensive.

Well the other day I had to drop by my cousin's place, for something or another, and I ended up having lunch with all 3 of them. Now don't get me wrong, I love my cousins, but those two doctors crack me up.

The eldest cousin sister was giving us some story about when she went to a nightclub and there were this group of guys beating up this one guy. This got her pissed so she left the club. So she started telling us about how its WRONG to kick a guy when he's down etc etc. By now the rest of us were laughing away, because street fights were rarely 'honourable'. I could just imagine, this guy all bloody on the floor surounded by 5 other dudes, and he looks up and says, "Ugh, remember the code!"

hahahaha just like Pirates of The Carrib.

Its been a sucky 2005 for me. I cant list out EVERYTHING thats gone on, but its things like today that make it really sucky.

The place where I'm staying currently (for work in and around Singapore) as a 'wet' kitchen, where most of the washing is done, and there's a washing machine there too. Now this area is sort of in the back of the house, and its more like a long room, and it has its own door, and its fully grilled up and gated. There is an access way to the back alley from the wet kitchen, but thats locked up too.

So I get my shirts and stuff, and go over to the washing machine and drop in some detergent and wait for it to fill. I had to unlock the first door, but I left that open so I thought things were ok. Halfway filling the machine, I hear a loud slam. The main door had just slammed shut. At this point of time, I was still ok, since I thought the door was unlocked (I've heard the door slam shut a few times when I was in the living room, but this was when I was INSIDE the house).

When I finished up at the machine, I went over to open the door and it was F-ING LOCKED! Right about now, I basicly freeked out.

1. I was locked in.
2. I didnt have my wallet, keys, phone, or ANYTHING.
3. Even if I did manage to get someone's attention, I didnt really know the people there, or any relevent phone numbers to get them to call (thank you speed dial on my cellphone!)
4. I was basicly fuc*ed.

Guess what I did?

Yes, I broke the door. Now the house belongs to my boss, so I couldnt flat out smash it to bits, and I didnt want to get the neighbours out as well. I kept applying pressure to the lower bit of the door close to the floor where there seemed some give, and kept at it for 1 hour.

Not saying that I kept pushing the side of the door for one WHOLE hour, it was more like 30 minutes. The rest of the time was spent freeking out. Mostly freeking out.

I finnaly got the bit of the door lock thats embedded in the door to crack the rest of the door side, and I helped it on with a knife I found in the kitchen.

Well since I'm here posting this, you all know that I got out.

Man this day sucks.

I'm not sure if anyone has read this bit of news yet, but its shocking to hear that bloggers are being thrown into JAIL for something they wrote down in their blogs.

I understand the country in question is a little harsh on free speach but what I'm more curious about is how did they (the govt) track these bloggers down? Was it via their ISP? Blogging website? What?

Damnit now I'm feeling paranoid.

So I'd just like to say, Bloggers Unite! Blogging is a great way of sharing information, and if you cant take that, then get off the internet!

This bit of news in the BBC website caught my attention as I was about to leave the other office to look into one of our clients.

Yes Malaysia is planning to round up immigrants, but the key words here are 'illegal' and deadline.
Its not like we've just picked a date and are starting to detain them on a whim, Malaysia has actually put into place a pardon for these illegal immigrants if they left before the deadline, and that deadline has been pushed back twice (if I'm not mistaken, which I could be knowing me)

I'm hoping things go over without a hitch.

I'm pretty sure that 'Work work' line from Warcraft has been reused so many times its getting old.

Well its true that I'm sort of stuck in Johor/Singapore for the last 2 weeks, but I'm almost done here and I should be back to Kuala Lumpur soon.

Someone commented that the quality of my blogging here as well as in the Dregs of IT has gone down, and I'd like to say that its due to work. I dont know why, but suddenly work is all I ever do. Even TV has taken a dive, and PC games are just narrowed down to Xcom 1 and Xcom 2 (finished Xcom1, working on hacking some of the soilder data in Xcom 2 cause I keep getting f-ed over by the underwater aliens)

So yeha thats whats going on.

Well the last day of the PC Fair was today (Sunday) so I decided to STFU and get myself a router-modem. I didnt really need a wireless one, but if the price was close to the normal router modem I didnt mind picking that up. As I got there, a friend and myself roamed the fair floor, gawking at hot girlies (SONY and Intel were really hot) we came across loads of networking stuff. I was only intrested in Linksys or D-Link (goooo cisco!)

All I came across was a router modem by D-Link, and get this, with ONE port. Now WTF am I supposed to do with a router modem with ONE PORT? D-Link does make others, but they are not yet in Malaysia. So I had 2 options, get a router (or a wireless router) AND an ADSL modem, or, wait for a new model to come available.

I'm waiting. I dont need more equiptment in my room, and I'm running out of power points.
