It took me 10 minutes to get out of bed and into the shower, but when I'm done I find that our fridge has chilled the milk too much to my taste (in my cornflakes) and I stumble over to the microwave. Now I've had soo much to do over the weekend, including a client's dinner where I came into contact with a magical item called the "Never Go Empty Beer Glass" which in its self was a wonderfull thing, but it sort of explains why I'm so gorggy today.
I slide my cup of milk into the microwave, punch the 'High' button and press 40 seconds. I then press the 'Cancel'. Then I stand there like an idiot for a few seconds, before I slap my forhead and do the whole thing again, 'High', 40 seconds... then I press CANCEL AGAIN! This goes on for a few times before I give up and have cold COLD milk for my cereal.

Wow I was reading some work related material and then I came across this link. Its amazing, what they say about SAP is probably not true (well most of it) then again I'd LOVE to have a look at how SAP trully works.

What a morning..
 
I got home last night around 9 pm from work, and I dragged my carcass into the shower and then on to the couch and just sat there for a while before going to bed. I was too tired to bother with Counter Strike with my brother, even if its really fun to put a bullet through his head and watch him fly back (even if I'm playing with a handicap, he has 2 bots on his side).
 
I wake up today and look at the watch, and it says 8am. Now, on a usual day when I’m driving the company car, I’m out of the house by 8.00am-8.15am. So yeah, I’m late.

I rush down and get ready for work, grab a slice of toast and jump in the car, and drive off at about 8.20am. When I was making my way to the company car, and I don’t FIND IT! Jebus! This was because I usually park it a little ways down the road, since my neighbors park their cars opposite my home as well. Last night, there was a spot just in front of my house. So this morning I walked down the road and couldn’t find the car. Really made me worried there, before I remembered I parked it right in front.

Things seem ok for now.

So here I am sitting in heavy traffic when I notice the lady in the other car next to me staring at me. I look at her back, and she turns away. Wondering what’s going on, I take a look at myself in the rear view mirror, and I see that I haven’t combed my hair. It was all spiky and wet and stuff, because when I was busy getting ready, I stood infront of the mirror and was applying hair cream, but I DIDN’T COMB MY HAIR after that. Poop. So by now I’m freaking out and I check to see if I put on any pants.
I did.
So that’s a good thing I guess.

Meh.

Got to work on time. Tummy upset now :-(

Ok I know this might be a little late but I've been really busy because of work. The guys at Penny Arcade seem to be a little ticked off, and this comic pretty much sums up how they feel. Read the article first before going off and slamming them or me.
Penny Arcade rocks, so its all good. I sort of understand how they feel, since its a comic hero, why kill him off?

Well I took a day off with Azzy on Monday and we went to the movies, basicly we watched Spiderman 2 and Arthur in a row (well there was a 10 minute break in between).
Both movies rocked and I already have a few movies I really want to see, like I,Robot and Aliens vs Pred and um...some...other...movies..er. yeah ok enough about that.
 
My take on Spiderman 2:
Overall, it rocked, really. It showed P.Parker as a human, not as Spiderman, and that as a human he could be hurt and stuff. OK yeha whatever that shit is cool and all but I felt that the CGI could have been better, since some shots of Spiderman looked out of place in the movie, like you could still see it was computer graphics. Oh well, cant have em all can we?
Next were a few smaller issues, but I guess I'll just gloss over them, like that mini sun in the river but no steam or heat showing. Blah. :)
 
My take on Arthur:
Overall, it rocked (heheheh). Well it did. But I would have liked it if it had just a tad more blood, like Gladiator. The pace was good, and there were some sappy bits in there, but I liked it alot. A big move from the 'standard' King Arthur fare. No magic at ALL. Kind of cool.
 
Ok ok before I get hate mail and stuff, these are just stuff I thought off when I watched both movies. Again, as I mentioned, both movies were really really cool.

Game Maker and that game I'm working on

Well I was just working on Game Maker 5 and I had this clone of a shooter called 1945 (arcade game, planes etc etc) I'm currently working on. I've got a few people to look at it, but since its a clone, and its built on a pre-defined engine, its not much to look at yet. Gib said its just too hard, since in the later levels (well there are no levels yet, just one level) the enemy planes start to swarm you under. But its sill fun. Ales here thinks that games suck, and he doesn't need them. GASP! HORROR!. Well anyone and everyone that plays games, pop in to his blog and leave a comment!

I have NO IDEA how the people here get any work done, the Internet connection is WORSE then dialup, and its shared between almost 5 people. My email doesnt come up, my attachments dont ..er..well get attached. Nothing WORKS. I'm amazed its letting me blog.

Yeah well I will soon be down in Singapore for about 10 or so days, and the nights can be pretty lonely (not that I need company, I'm pretty happy hanging out alone at times). So I have been looking for stuff to do/keep me busy, and besides learning PHP/ASP, I've come across this, a software that lets you build your own games. I know, its nothing new, but the design of this one makes me feel at ease.

After cleaning my room up I came across some cpu fans that I didnt use anymore and I decided to make use of them to cool my laptop down. I understand that its not pretty, but it does the job, and thats good enough for me. Here are some shots of the additional fan. There's actually one more behind the laptop, drawing air from under the unit away from the case.

I don't know if you guys know it but SP 2 for XP Pro is out. You can get it with the link below, but I'd suggest you read the changes XPSP2 will make to your system, because alot of things are going to be switched off by default, and some systems will not work unless you go in and re-enable them.

A bunch of guys (and myself) managed to get invited to the Microsoft Innovation Day and Bill Gates actually popped up and gave a short speech on Seamless Computing: Making It Real With Hardware and Software Advances.
It was good, and we also got a preview of the new OS codenamed 'Longhorn'.

I have just finished cleaning my room. Its like a nuclear bomb went off and I had to shift through the rubble. Anyway I came across a bit of foam and 2 pc CPU fans, and I sort of got them working cooling my laptop. Its hot here, and my laptop needs all the help it can get, short of me getting A/C.

Just as I get on GMail (Google's new email service, the one that reads your email to put small ads in it, but offers 1GB of email space) thanks to Blogger.com, I go home and find out Yahoo!Mail is now offering 100MB of space. Yeah just as i delete most of my important stuff from yahoo email.

Now all Yahoo! needs to do is work on their Geocities webpage service. They give out a small bit of 15MB for free webpages. Like, WTF? 15 MB? That's not enough dude! Its never enough when you're dealing with webpages. Oh well....

I will now try to list out what I have been up to so far, so you guys would understand why I havent had much time to blog.

1. Been down to Singapore like a Jillion times, mostly work (ok ok ALL work)
2. After that I was in Jakarta, Indonesia for more work (just a week, and pity I couldnt really enjoy the sweet sweet 5 star hotel they put me up in)
3. Got back to my office and then had to catch up with all the paperwork that had piled up.
4. Slept a few days.
5. Busy amending the blog and adding new posts.

Well I woke up today (after packing for my trip last night) and I cant say I got a good night's sleep. After breakfast and getting ready for work and whatnot, I was putting my socks on when I suddenly realized that I HAVEN'T PACKED MY PASSPORT!

I say goodbye to mom and dad, jump in the car and drive off. 1 minute later I am parked informs of my house.
I ironed 4 shirts the night before, and they were on hangers in my room, ready to be placed in the car so I wont have to iron when I get to JB/Singapore. Guess where they were when I left? YES, STILL IN MY ROOM!

Yeah so I went down to Singapore for a meeting and it was cool. I drove down from Kuala Lumpur, took me about err.. say 4hours to get there. It was cool and all, but this time we actually got to go like deep into Singapore (the last few times it was just meetings then back to the office).

This is our virtual office. The office itself is on the Penthouse, if I remember right, it was on the 44'th floor. All I can say about this place is WOW!. LIKE WOW!
Every virtual office should be like this, pretty office people, nice place, free drinks and stuff. Very cool. The building itself has a small mall on the lower floors, and there preddy ladies all over the place. Er... non for me..er.. since..um.. yeah taken and all... yeah.. so... err... woot!

Ah yes, I was on my way to work today when I came across Mr "I'm too cool to use my signal lights" (lets just call him Idiot A for now). This guy was stuck in traffic, then makes a quick dash across the next lane W/O using his signal lights. DUDE WTF those lights are there for a reason! GAH!

Well anyway I continue on my way to work again and I meet Ms "I'm to pretty so I will drive in 2 lanes" (again, we shall just call her Idiot B). Now I don't quite know what Idiot B was doing, she was swerving in and out of 2 car lanes like she was drunk, or been drinking, or even worse, having a heart attack. That or she didnt know where she wanted to go, so she took the easy way out and just drove in the middle. Idiot B deserves a lead pipe. I dono, maybe... I guess... I'm just too tired...

I've noticed that Singapore seems to have really neat lawns/trees and stuff. Maybe they have more garderners then other countries? Maybe they hire trained ferrets to do their bidding? Who KNOWS?

It’s been 2 weeks and I think depression is starting to set in. the evenings are getting longer, and I can’t seem to get enough sleep, even when I count sheep (and other animals, somehow elephants jumping over a fence seems wrong, but it could just be me)

Anyway, yarg!

My only friend is a square box, and it used to flash all sorts of fun things at me, and I could make it do other stuff to. I’d stare and gawk, and even sometimes join in the fun. I call this box my "top o' lap". I like my top o' lap.

These days it's turned bad, maybe because I’ve left it out of the fridge or something. It no longer shows me fun things, and I keep getting weird and odd things on its magical image viewer-tron. these odd things/images make my head hurt, and I find that I am spending more and more time in front of the viewer-tron, deciphering the hidden messages. I call the odd things 'wrok' (sometimes I call it 'workh' too, when I’m feeling adventurous).

I'm back in the Johor Baharu branch office again, going over my work and stuff and will have to go over to Singapore again next monday. I guess they got tired of jerking me around, and the last time I went over things were cool. The best thing about Singapore I guess is the fact that EVERYONE speeks english. Always a plus point that, speaking english.

Well today was my first day in Singapore. The last time I was here it was about 15 years ago. I must say, things sure have changed.

Oh, and on a fun note, I was pulled over at the Customs check at Woodlands, and then had our car searched and our bags looked at. The (the cops) gave us dirty looks, and I guess I looked like a really bad person, kinda...sorta... maybe.. I dont know.

Oh well, I guess it was their way of saying, "WELCOME BACK MOFO!"

Well I've been busy at work, and things at home are just as messy. Work has me going up and down the country, and at the moment I'm going to be in Singapore for 2-3 weeks or so, just as Christmas rolls by. Its shit like this that keeps me awake late at night clutching my pen-knife waiting for someone to barge in my room and kick the crap out of me. Why? For no other better reason that I have a great blog and they dont.
